چکیده

Supported gold nanoparticles on titania have been prepared using the deposition-precipitation method at several pH levels. The effects of pH on gold loading, particle size and particle size distribution are studied, both below and above the isoelectric point of TiO2. The effects of adjusting the pH before and after the addition of the support to gold chloride solution are also investigated. Gold particles with diameters of less than 10 nm have been obtained. The results reveal dependence of the gold particle size, and loading and distribution on the pH. The supported Au nanoparticles have been tested for the reduction of p-nitrophenol and found to exhibit particle size-dependent behavior. The highest rate constant of 16.9 × 10 s has been obtained for the Au particles size between 4 and 5 nm.

Revisiting catalytic model reaction p-nitrophenol/NaBH4 using metallic nanoparticles coated on polymeric spheres.

The early reported pseudo-first-order reaction kinetics of the polymer-supported metallic nanocatalysts for the model reaction of p-nitrophenol (p-NP)/NaBH4 were probably oversimplified. Here a detailed study of p-NP reduction by NaBH4 in the presence of the raspberry-like poly(allylamine hydrochloride)-modified polymer poly(glycidyl methacrylate) composite sub-microspheres with tunable gold na...

Synthesis and characterization of titania-magnetic activated carbon composite for photocatalytic degradation and mineralization of p-nitrophenol

A novel, magnetically separable composite photocatalyst, titania coated with magnetic activated carbon, is prepared by depositing TiO2 onto the surface of magnetic activated carbon which was prepared by directly adsorbing of magnetic Fe2O3 nanoparticles onto activated carbon. The samples are characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and vibration sample magnetometer. Spec...

Green synthesis of gold nanoparticles using aspartame and their catalytic activity for p-nitrophenol reduction

We demonstrated a facile and environmental-friendly approach to form gold nanoparticles through the reduction of HAuCl4 by aspartame. The single-crystalline structure was illustrated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) results indicated that aspartame played a pivotal role in ...
